See which version of your message works best

If you use more than one version of a connection note, LinkedIn message, or InMail, you can now compare how each variation performs.

Previously, Botdog rotated between your message versions, but there was no way to see which one was getting the best response.

Where to find it

Open a campaign’s Insights and look for Message variations in the Performance section.

For every step with more than one version, you can now see:

• How many people received each variation
• For connection notes, how many people accepted
• For messages and InMails, how many people replied
• The performance rate for each version side by side

Once there is enough data, the strongest variation is marked Leading.

Replies are matched to the right message

For LinkedIn messages and InMails, a reply is credited to the last message the person received before they replied.

This means a later follow-up will not take credit for a response that was actually caused by an earlier message.

Botdog waits before calling a winner

Each variation needs at least 20 sends before Botdog identifies a leader.

Until then, you will see Too early to call.

This helps you avoid making decisions based on only a handful of results.

Running campaigns are included

The comparison also includes messages sent before this update.

If you changed the wording of a variation after some messages had already gone out, Botdog may not be able to match every earlier send back to a specific version.

When that happens, Insights shows how many could not be matched, and those sends are left out of the comparison.

The Message variations section only appears when a campaign step has more than one version.
