You can now create your first organization without setting up a team first
We fixed a confusing setup issue for customers who were the only person on their Botdog account.
Previously, the Organizations & Agencies page could tell you that access was limited to team owners and admins, even when you were the account holder and there was nobody else to ask.
The real issue was that organizations need a team behind them, and your account did not have one set up yet.
Create your team and first organization together
Now, when you create your first organization, Botdog sets up your team at the same time.
Open Organizations & Agencies, select New organization, and you will be asked for:
- Team name, which represents you or your agency. Botdog suggests one based on your name, so you can usually leave it as is. You can invite teammates later from Settings > Team.
- First organization, which will usually be your first client.
That is all you need to get started.
You become the owner automatically, and can then use the rest of the organization features, including:
- Adding managed identities
- Moving people between organizations
- Routing notifications to Slack
Shared accounts are unchanged
If your account already has multiple people, nothing changes.
The Organizations & Agencies page is still limited to owners and admins. Regular members will continue to see the access message, which is correct for them.
Clearer message if your subscription has ended
Organizations require an active subscription.
If your subscription has lapsed, Botdog now tells you clearly and links you directly to billing, instead of showing a misleading message about contacting a team owner.
