We've fixed repeated disconnection alerts and connections vanishing
We have made two improvements to how Botdog handles LinkedIn accounts that become disconnected.
No more repeated alerts for the same disconnection
Previously, when a LinkedIn account stayed disconnected, Botdog’s nightly checks could treat the same issue as a new disconnection each time.
This meant you could keep receiving fresh alerts and reminder emails for the same problem, sometimes for weeks.
Now, Botdog treats one disconnection as one ongoing issue.
You will:
- Be notified when the account first disconnects
- Continue receiving the usual reminders while it remains unresolved
- Stop receiving new disconnection alerts unless something actually changes
If the account reconnects and then disconnects again later, that will be treated as a new issue and you will be notified again.
Disconnected accounts will no longer disappear
We also fixed an issue where, in one situation, a LinkedIn connection could be removed completely if our LinkedIn provider no longer had a record of it.
This could make the account disappear from Botdog without any clear explanation, leaving you to set it up again from scratch.
Now, the account stays visible and is marked as Disconnected instead.
This makes it clear that the account needs to be reconnected, and also gives the Botdog support team a clear record of what happened and when.
If you have never experienced a LinkedIn disconnection, nothing changes for your healthy connected accounts.
